To prepare our students for success in college, career, and life, we have set the bar high. The PARCC assessment is computer-based and matches the high expectations of the Common Core State Standards, requiring students to think critically and solve real-world problems.
Students in grades 3–8 and students enrolled in Algebra I, Geometry, and English I and II will take the PARCC test. The PARCC test assesses what your child is learning in school and helps teachers and parents know if students are on track for success in college and careers.
How to Prepare
The best preparation for the PARCC tests is the rich instruction students are receiving every day in DCPS schools! See this link to learn how you can support your child’s learning.
What to Expect
Score Results: The results of the 2019 PARCC assessment will be released in late summer to early fall of 2019.
Testing Window: In School Year 2019-2020, the PARCC test will be administered between April 20 and May 22. Students are not testing every day during the date ranges. Each school will determine its testing schedule and will let you know exactly when your child will be testing.
Review the student tutorials and try out a set of sample items and practice tests that allow students and families to experience both the content and the technology of the online tests.
